July 18, 2026. Boarding a charter bus from Brancel Charters from Dubuque to Onawa. At Onawa, it will be find your gear, set up your tent, ride to the Missouri River border with Nebraska, grab something for dinner, then hit the hay.
This year’s edition of RAGBRAI will be the shortest in their 53-year history but the 10th hilliest. So many people are freaking out about the hills. The average day on RAGBRAI will be for me two laps of my Montclair-Manassas loops. Hilly at times. The misconception many people have of Iowa is that it is flat. Nope. That is Kansas (mostly). Iowa has plenty of rolling hills.
